Our Units

Ladybirds & Caterpillars

ImageImageThe Ladybirds is our 0 -1yr old room and the Caterpillars is for the 1 - 2 yr olds. They both have a ratio of 1 adult: 3 children. 

A team of friendly staff provides a safe, stimulating and fun environment within a homely and caring setting.

Both units have a large range of age appropriate toys and equipment.

Babies have the freedom to settle into their own routine with the benefit of an individual approach. The children sleep in our pram shelter where they benefit from being outside or they can sleep in our sleep room.

 

 

The Units go on frequent walks in the countryside and enjoy the garden as often as they can. Frequent interaction with the other units especially the Butterfly unit encourages the children to learn from each other and fosters excellent relationship for siblings.

Butterflies

ImageThe Butterfly unit cares for children between the ages of 22 months and 3yrs with a ratio of 1 adult: 3 children for under 2’s and 1 adult: 4 children for the over 2’s.

A team of staff provides a safe, secure, stimulating, fun and caring environment that benefits from a daily routine allowing children the freedom to learn and play.

A variety of hands on activities and a large range of age appropriate toys and equipment are available to help encourage increased concentration and independence.

The Unit goes on frequent walks in the countryside and enjoys the garden as often as they can.

The staff help to potty train children when they are showing positive signs of being ready.

Children have quiet times during the day to restore and relax them and can have a nap after lunch.

Frequent interaction with the other units is encouraged. The children learn from each other and it helps to foster excellent relationship for siblings.

Dragonflies

ImageThe pre-school unit provides care for children from 3 yrs to 5 yrs old with a ratio of 1 adult: 6 children in a purpose built unit.

 The children learn to express themselves through in many ways. For example they are encouraged to paint pictures of the world around them.

 We provide a safe, secure, and fun environment for the children.

 We teach the children respect for themselves and others and encourage them to explore their world.

The pre-school unit offers an individual approach to learning within the guidelines of the Foundation stage through the Early Learning Goals.

 The Unit goes on frequent walks in the countryside and enjoys the garden as often as they can. The staff foster and encourage a clear foundation and interest in learning through play that children can build on when they go to school.

The children benefit from a flexible routine that incorporates the six areas of learning:

*  Language and Literacy

*  Mathematics

*  Knowledge and Understanding of the World

*  Social and Emotional

*  Physical

*  Creative.
