Gemma Elliot – Playworker Supervisor
I have been working at Cottages PlayAway since October 2005. I took over as supervisor in January 2007. I have been running the DayAway since January 2013. I love working with the children at Cottages DlayAway, as there is a wide range of ages that provide an interesting and diverse setting. I have a lot of fun working with the children and I enjoy providing them with a secure place to play, socialise and to develop their independence. My qualifications include: NVQ Level 2 Playwork; NVQ Level 3 Playwork; Paediatric First aid and Food Hygiene. I regularly attend playwork development courses to further my knowledge of children’s play and learning. I am also about to undertake a Special Educational Needs qualification.
I am currently on Maternity leave. I joined as a Playworker in the DayAway since 2010 and I am thoroughly enjoying the challenge. In my spare time I enjoy shopping and eating out with my friends.
I joined the PlayAway as a cover Playworker in May 2012, and I have been covering Annabel’s maternity leaves since September 2013. I have been married 27 years and have two grown children, with 1 grandchild and one on the way! I enjoy cooking, bike riding and I have real interest in all and any Cars.
