Admissions  & Induction Policy

  The Cottages Day Nursery has an ‘open door’ policy, and we encourage and welcome visits to the Nursery by Parents and Carers.

  Interested Parents/Carers are invited to visit the Nursery in the morning between 10am- 11am and in the afternoon between 2:00-3:30pm; it is advisable to make an appointment first.  If however, these times are not suitable please contact the Nursery.

  £20 non-refundable registration fee is required to go on the waiting list and one months fees are required to secure your place once a start date has been confirmed, which will be used for the last month’s fees once a months calendar notice has been given and all contractual obligations have been met. The second sibling is not required to give a full deposit.

  You will be invoiced from the expected start date.

  The Nursery has a strict settling in policy that enables the child and parent to feel comfortable and confident that the child will settle and enjoy their time at the nursery. They also enable you and your child to meet the staff and familiarise your self with the routines and ask any questions. The Nursery will contact you to arrange a visit, which should be made at least 2 weeks in advance of the start date.

  The first two visits are a gentle introduction to the Nursery, and both child and parent should attend. The third visit should be a short settling in period by the parent allowing the child time to settle in and then after saying “Goodbye” leave for half an hour. Please stay in the immediate vicinity in case the staff feel that your presence is required. Ideally these visits should take place during a one-week to two-week period regardless of days or sessions booked in for.
